FUNdraiser...

YEAH...FUNdraiser :)

Olivia and I are participating in our first fundraiser! In April we are going to walk in "Walk to Defeat ALS". We joined an organization here called the M.O.M.S club. It stand for Mothers Offering Mothers Support. Olivia loves the playgroups and I like meeting other Moms. It is a very friendly group of ladies.

As many of you know, my Grandfather was diagnosed with ALS in 2005 and passed away from the disease in 2007. This is a cause near and dear to my heart so I was very excited to learn that the M.O.M.S. club chose Walk to Defeat ALS as one of their fundraising causes.

Where have all the smiles gone?

Poor little Olivia has a terrible cold! She has had a fever for the past two days, runny nose and cough. She is NOT happy! I can't wait to see her smiles and hear her giggles again. She looks so pitiful!

Anyway, I have been busy taking care of our patient and killing germs. I also have a bit of a cold myself. It is kind of hard not to catch her cold when she uses me as Kleenex and finds it entertaining to stick her WET (germ infested) thumb in my mouth. Ahhh, the joys of motherhood...wouldn't trade it for anything!

Paris in Training

We had our first babysitter come to the house on Saturday and...Olivia did great! Kate came over to watch our little darling and apparently she was actually a good girl and did not turn into a crazy crying machine. Will and I went to a wine tasting in our neighborhood. We had a really good time but not as good of a time as some of the neighbors. A couple of people stayed until 3:00am (yikes!) drinking wine. I would still be in bed right now if I did that!! They partied like rock stars.

Sunday was a relaxing day for me and Olivia. Will had to work an open house. He had some traffic and hopefully he can followup with some people and they will become a client.

Friends and Babies

Olivia met Ethan while visiting at her Grandparents house. Ethan is Katie and Kevin's son and for those who don't know Katie is my very good friend from high school. We have kept in touch throughout the years and we even had babies within 1 month of each other. Olivia was born April 21st and Ethan was May 17th (I think). Ethan is already a lot taller than Olivia but his parents are both tall so I guess he has that going for him :)

Olivia and Ethan new friends...they even dress alike with froggies on their outfits!

Ethan needed a little space and pushed Olivia over. He was preparing for the big event of rolling from front to back. He decided to show off for Olivia and rolled for the first time while visiting...GO Ethan :)

First Food

We gave Olivia her first taste of "solid" foods this week. We started out feeding her in the swing because we didn't have a high chair for her. She had some rice cereal and actually enjoyed it! She is now eating more than spitting out, which is a good thing!

When do you think Baby Boy Owens will make his grand debut? The due date is August 29th

Give me your best guess and we will see if anyone picks the right date! Your guess needs to be in before Friday (8/8), that is her next doctor's appt. After this appt they may have an idea of when he is going to arrive. So, what is your guess??



Olivia has used her magic powers and thinks August 21st is a good bet, so that is our date.

rolling, rolling, rolling

Hey Y'all,

I have some exciting news to report (drum roll please)...I rolled over this morning!!!

I started out like this on my belly. I don't like being on my tummy much so I needed to figure out this rolling over thing fast!! Mom couldn't believe it, She started cheering which made my puppies really excited!

Maddy tried to give me a helpful nudge so I would roll over again! Mom thinks she was really just sniffing my diaper :)

Look out world...crawling will be next!

PS- My pictures seem to make my beautiful eyebrows look like a "unibrow"...let me assure you that I actually have 2 separate eyebrows but the pictures sure don't look like it!

Happy Father's Day!

Will has celebrated a wonderful First Father's Day!! Olivia picked out two handsome shirts along with a book that he can read to her. She also thought an Ice Cream Cake would be something her Daddy would enjoy!

Smile

We think Olivia is actually smiling on her own. Up until now everyone said it was just gas, but now it seems to be a real true smile :)

She is getting so big! I know I keep saying it but she is growing so fast, it is unbelievable!

Nana and Papa are coming to visit next week and they will be shocked how big she has gotten and how alert she is.

She gave me a great gift this past weekend...7 1/2 hours of uninterrupted sleep!!! Yep, she slept from 11:15pm-6:45am. Of course she has woken up the past two nights at 4:30 to eat but that is still pretty good! Hopefully this means sleeping through the night on a regular basis is not far off...she is just 7 weeks old!

Bath Time is Fun Time

Olivia had her first bath on Sunday. We had to wait for her umbilical cord to fall off so she was having sponge baths up until Sunday.

She loved the bath...maybe she will be a water baby :)

She's a BIG girl now...

Last night Olivia finally lost her umbilical cord. I know it is kind of gross but we were very excited that it finally fell off. Most babies lose the cord 10-12 days after birth and her cord fell off about 44 days after! Now we can finally give her a real bath instead of a sponge bath, hopefully she won't hate being in the tub.

She is also in Size 1 Diapers! Can't believe she is growing so fast.

Hanging Out

Olivia and I were hanging out on the front porch while Will and his friend played some Bocce ball. As you can see Olivia was having a blast :)

Here lovely Strawberry hat (thanks Kelly!) kept her little headed shaded from the sun!
